PROJECT – Substation Demolition
LOCATION – Coupar Angus, Scotland
DATE – November 2017
PROJECT VALUE – £40,000
PROJECT DESCRIPTION – Using demolition plant, we have recently completed the deconstruction of various reinforced concrete posts and removal of associated slabs/foundations & service ducts at the Coupar Angus substation, Scotland.
The posts were effectively reduced by fragmentation methods, using hydraulic concrete cracker attachment, fitted to the dipper arm of the demolition plant. Concrete was separated from the steel re-bar and each was sent off site for recycling.
The presence of existing overhead services meant that works were closely monitored and through risk assessment, it was determined that as a pre-requisite, a 4.5 meter working height restrictor was needed for the demolition machine.
We are scheduled to return next year to complete the deconstruction of blast walls, bund walls, service ducts, transformer slabs and foundations.
