PROJECT – Substation Demolition

LOCATION – Edinburgh Airport

DATE – November 2016

PROJECT VALUE – £40,000

PROJECT DESCRIPTION –  The redundant electrical substation and associated slabs and foundations, located airside of Edinburgh International Airport, have been flattened by BDB Dismantling and all waste arising’s removed off site.

The work also included asbestos survey, asbestos removal, transformer oil analysis and removal.

As is always the case when working in airport environments, security was of paramount importance; a site access pass was required along with valid passport and driver’s license for all site personnel.

A stringent security check was maintained for clearance through airport security and access onto site. This involved daily searches and screenings for demolition personnel, plant & equipment.

The work was completed within programme, without any security concerns and incident.
