Project scope: Removal and disposal of redundant heat exchanger equipment.
B.D.B undertook the removal and disposal off site of two redundant cooling towers and associated equipment. The project involved crane operations and loading the units to transport for further processing and recycling off site.
Recycling: The metals within the units were certified as Free Release/Exempt Material and as such were processed and re-smelted.
Health & Safety:
B.D.B met the strict requirements of operating within the industry, supplying a project specific Safe System of Work in the form of control documentation, audit procedures, communication infrastructure to meet and exceed statutory requirements under the HASAWA 1979, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, HSG65 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulation 2007.
Waste Traceability:
Strict control measures in place within the industry associated to routes of disposal and traceability of wastes were met, environmental standards associated to recycling of materials were addressed and complete and in depth documentation was provided to ensure industry and statutory requirements were adhered to
