Project Summary

Removal of Floating roof and tank base from 3 tanks on an island on the South West coast of Ireland.

Actions taken:

A total of 45 banks of oxygen and 15 bottles of gas, in addition to equipment, transported to an isolated terminal on a small island.

Test holes drilled in pre-determined areas of the tanks to ensure no entrapment of product.

Access hole profile cut, to allow for reinstatement of pontoon, inner roof skin and floor.

Steel hot cut to adequate size for removing from within tank, to be further processed outside tank to enable complete removal from the island whilst leaving annular ring intact.
