Project Summary
The removal of 25 interconnecting buildings and structures,situated between a busy industrial roadway and watercourse (canal). The site was cleared to ground level, to remove H&S liabilities, prior to re-development.
Actions taken:
Identification of hazardous materials, including asbestos. Definition of project scope and responsibilities. Definition of project schedule to minimise risks from working within an enclosed area. Liaison with British Waterways to ensure approval of method statements, designed to avoid impact onto the adjacent canal. Grading and stockpiling of liberated aggregate for future use. Maintenance of site security.
